An Update About Corona Virus
As you’re probably well aware, the CDC started giving updates about United States cases of the Corona Virus in early February. Since then, cases in the United State have grown. Local, state and the federal government have been issuing mandates to mitigate the spread of Corona Virus. In the Pacific Northwest, this includes:
This is in order to flatten the curve and minimize the effect on all the members of our communities.
In response to this, we’ve preemptively stopped operations at our lodge and halted reservations for spring trips. Our number one mission is to help the public enjoy Idaho, and the number one requirement above all else for this is our customers’ safety. Whatever time it takes, we can all recover.
Currently, the CDC and other agencies are estimating a peak infection early summer. However, the situation continues to evolve, so we’ll continue to update as that time approaches. The count of infected persons can be greatly reduced if we follow the above recommendations.
We do not anticipate, even with in worse case scenarios, that customers scheduled in our normal operating seasons will be affected directly. We understand that the situation leading up to these seasons will affect everyone economically. With this in mind, we’ve relaxed our cancellation policies. We’re also working with customers to reschedule or credit trips. We’re also extending free extra stays for layovers at our lodge. We want to encourage the safest arrangements for our customers, and the arrangements that will give you the best experience in our great state of Idaho.
In spite of all this, the outdoors is one of the safest ways to recreate in these times. Although there is still exposure to airborne viruses, being outdoors inherently encourages people to distance themselves. Once the riskiest of these times is over, we’re looking forward to seeing all of you healthy and out on the most beautiful lakes, rivers and streams in the Pacific Northwest. As things evolve, we’ll keep you updated with our planning and suggestions. Before we know it, we’ll be through this and back with the people and places that we love.
From everyone here and The Last Resort, stay safe, stay healthy, and we’ll see you soon.
